Our Real Life Bride : Katherine Roulston

Meet our DH bride, Katherine Roulston, who married her high school sweetheart this past September. Katherine looked stunning while wearing our Harper gown.

Katherine and her husband Michael began dating during their senior year of high school. They continued their love story at Virginia Tech where Katherine studied fashion merchandise and Michael studied meteorology. After graduating the couple did long-distance until 2020 where they moved in together in Bushwick.

Although the couple is NYC residents, they decided to get married in their hometown in Virginia. Katherine and Michael knew that the Winery at Kindred Pointe was a perfect place to tie the knot. Since Michael is a meteorologist, he was determined to find the perfect wedding date. Katherine states that: “This is cute: to select our wedding season and ultimately date, Michael ran historic rainfall data for maybe 50 years in the local area. He showed me graphs of spring and fall precipitation, and we saw that fall is less rainy in VA, especially from September into mid-October. We picked 9/18/21 as our wedding date.” Although Michael did his research, there were still slight showers on their wedding day which Michael will never live down! The reception was held in a gorgeous pavilion overlooking the mountains. The overall atmosphere of the wedding was simply gorgeous. The venue was filled with luscious flowers and greenery which made it feel like a secret garden.

When Katherine tried on the Harper gown she knew it was the one for her. Although she has worked in fashion for many years, she wanted her wedding dress shopping experience to be show-stopping. Katherine purchased her gown at Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier in New York City. She wanted a dress that was atypical and unique. Katherine states that: “ when I felt the silk chiffon fabric and saw the cape detailing on the Harper I was a goner”.
