Jewellery guru and Dannijo founder, Danielle Snyder, on bridal jewelry
We met New York based designer Danielle Snyder, founder of the vibrant jewelry line Dannijo, to hear her recommendations on bridal jewelry.
When did you found Dannijo? How long have you been in the jewelry industry for?
2008, over a decade.
How would you define your style?
90s obsessed, eclectic, and always oscillating between tomboy and uber feminine.

How do you go about choosing bridal jewelry that goes well with your bridal dress?
If your dress is a statement then the jewelry should be simple and elegant. If your look is simple like a slip dress, then you can have fun with statement jewelry like a big earring, choker or headpiece.
What type of jewelry do you think complements a wedding dress best?
I love crystals, diamonds and pearls. I also love. Dainty “something blue”.

What are your thoughts on matching jewelry sets vs mixing it up?
I actually love a matching set!! It feels very traditional and old world which I can’t get enough of.
Who are your favorite jewelry designers for bridal?
I tend to love vintage and heirlooms since it’s such a personal and intimate weekend.

When do you recommend wearing no jewelry with a wedding dress?
If you’re barefoot and you’re going for a minimalist look or if your dress is a statement.
Tell us about your exclusive bridal jeweler line at Dannijo?
It was a really personal collection because I designed it with my sister for my own wedding which made it really special. I designed each piece inspired by each woman in the wedding party from my mom and mother in law to my sister, sister-in-laws and myself.

Advise for future brides?
Trust your gut and wear whatever speaks to your soul. It’s your day! No one else’s. When in doubt go classic because you will never tire of it when you look back on wedding photos down the road.
